New Treatment for Concussion

Cutting a new edge in the field of concussion and traumatic brain injury, the HOPE Laser Institute, in Easton, has developed a patentpending protocol that can effectively treat the deficits of concussion. HOPE is a pioneer in photobiomodulation (PBM), or low-level cold laser therapy (LLLT). This painless, non-invasive treatment has scientific research and pre/post testing that supports patients’ results.

LLLT uses light to stimulate cells to function properly and repair damaged tissue. PBM has been used for more than 50 years and has a host of research concerning its ability to address inflammation and increasing blood flow with capillary dilation. The use of PBM decreases scar tissue and stimulates cells to produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the currency of energy that our cells use to perform.

Mary T. Chicchi and Adele Lukachek both implement their 25 years of knowledge and extensive case load to make HOPE one of the premiere health care facilities in the Lehigh Valley.
