WinterFest 2016 will take place February 13 and 14 on Presidents Day Weekend in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, featuring the famous Jim Thorpe Mug Walk. Guests can get a souvenir mug at the train station for $10 benefit the Jim Thorpe Tourism Agency. New this year are Winter in the Gorge trains (lgsry.com), operating three times a day from the Jim Thorpe Visitors Center to Lehigh Gorge State Park from February 14 through the 16.

Ice and wood carving demonstrations by Masters of the Chainsaw create beautiful sculptures to be sold at the train station at 4 p.m., February 14. Horse-drawn carriage rides will fill the streets of Old Mauch Chunk, weather permitting. There will be shopping, dining, attractions and a free Kids' show at the opera house at 2 p.m. February 13 and 14, with magician Eddy Ray whose approach to performing is refreshingly modern, hip, versatile and cutting-edge.
