Clinical depression is widespread, and usually treated with talk therapy and/or medication; however, a key clinical study shows that more than 40 percent of these patients might not respond to medication as they suffer from a condition called treatment-resistant depression (TRD). These patients need to seek an alternative treatment for their symptoms.
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is an alternative treatment that has been shown to be safe and effective for those with TRD. Brainsway’s Deep TMS has been proven to be safe and generally well tolerated. The most common side effect is temporary, mild pain or discomfort in the area of the treatment site, which typically occurs only during the first week of TMS treatment.
