Lehigh Valley Yoga Festival Gives Back to Community

Widening the reach of the benefits of yoga and mindfulness to at-risk children, the fourth annual Lehigh Valley Yoga Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., July 22, at Moravian College. All proceeds go toward funding the work of the Pratyush Sinha Foundation, which seeks to achieve health and harmony through yoga and mindfulness programs. There will be more than 30 opportunities to practice yoga, and this year includes a Himalayan singing bowl meditation, Bollywood dance, introduction to the ancient language of Sanskrit, art + yoga and the study of yogic texts.

Highlights include Kirtan chanting and music performed by Kira Wiley, Dalien 13Hands, Deva Vidya and Sharon Silverstein. Intensive workshops include Terrence Coe, of the Arsha Vidya Gurukulam; Jessie Thompson, of Yoga Loft; Iris Kish, of Easton Yoga; and Kristin Baxter, of Moravian College. Meditation, movement and healing classes with yoga instructors and healers from Lehigh Valley yoga studios and beyond will be available.
