After the death of grandmaster Pai Li-Lung (John A. Weninger) on January 23, 2016, Pai Lum honored its martial art heritage by formally inaugurating its next generation of leadership in a traditional ceremony at Bethlehem Kung Fu Center on April 3, 2016. The ceremony, attended by 46 witnesses including teachers, students and friends of Pai Lum, concluded with additional remarks, photographs, and followed by a catered social hour.

Pai Lum, meaning “White Dragon” as well as “White Forest,” is the martial art system of the Pai family with ancient Chinese origins. Comprised of Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Chi Kung studies, it also encompasses meditation practices and a full range of traditional weapons training. Pai Lum has schools across North America and various parts of the world.

With full authority, Pai Kwan-Li (Janice Weninger) the grandmasters widow, read his recorded will and final instructions, including several significant promotions of rank including Pai Shen-Li (Brian H. Kunsman) owner of Bethlehem Kung Fu Center as a 10th Higher Level. This designation of the new hierarchy of leadership, is an expression of veneration and gratitude toward Pai Lum, as well as best wishes and provision for its future.
