Natural Awakenings Lehigh Valley

Hawk Mountain Photo Contest Accepting Entries

The 2,500-acre Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, the world’s first refuge for birds of prey, provides a great backdrop for superior Nature photos. The deadline for submissions to the annual Hawk Mountain Digital Photo Contest is November 26. Funds raised benefit the sanctuary's educational programs. Up to two photos may be entered in each of five categories: scenic views and wild landscapes, wild avians, native wild flora, native wild fauna, and macro photography.

The winner for each category will receive $75 dollars and the runner up will receive $25. The award-winning photos will be displayed in an exhibit in the Wings of Wonder Gallery, in the Hawk Mountain Visitor Center for a year and in the Autumn 2018 Hawk Mountain News. “This is the perfect chance to practice nature photography and capture the beauty of Hawk Mountain,” says Gigi Romano, sanctuary communications specialist.

Entry fee is $5. For a complete list of rules and guidelines or to enter, visit HawkMountain.org/photocontest. For more information, visit HawkMountain.org.
