Low Back and Hip Pain Seminar

 

Kula Heart Yoga, in Bethlehem, will host a therapeutic, weekend workshop from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., January 12 and 13. Special guest Anthony DiGirolamo will present Advanced Integrative Approach to the Low Back and Pelvis, a hands-on seminar discussing common causes of biomechanical pain in the low back and hips. The seminar will offer an in-depth assessment of the low back and pelvis and relevant anatomy and will focus on advanced, hands-on therapeutic applications addressing the myofascial, neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems. The most current, evidence based approach to mechanisms of pain will also be addressed. Approved for 16 continuing credit hours by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, the workshop is open to licensed massage therapists, physical therapists and practitioners of manual medicine. 

Anthony DiGirolamo, currently completing his doctorate training in osteopathic medicine in Philadelphia, is a teaching fellow in osteopathic manipulative medicine and neuromusculoskeletal medicine. He has a background in traditional massage and bodywork, along with training in Thailand in the art of Thai yoga massage. DiGirolamo is a certified Rolfer and a practitioner of structural integration.
