Make the Most of Organic Produce
Michelle Trent, of The Joyful Elephant, will present a two-part live cooking demonstration, Taste of the Farmer’s Market, from 6:30 to 8:30, June 18 and August 1, at the demonstration kitchen at the NCC Fowler Center, in Bethlehem. While we have all brought home fresh, organic food from the farmers’ market, not everyone is aware of the myriad ways it can be cooked in healthy recipes to preserve nutrients.
Trent will increase her audience’s confidence in selecting and preparing fresh greens and vegetables, review what produce is available locally and explain the benefits of buying local. The class is divided into two parts to take advantage of the vegetables that are available at different times during the growing season.
