Emmaus Yoga Kicks Off Fall

Emmaus Yoga will host a series of workshops this fall, starting with Tribal Belly Dance: Six Week Sessions with Tara Sommerfield, from 7 to 9 p.m. October 12 to November 18. Tribal style belly dance is a fusion of traditional Middle Eastern dance and folkloric dance movements from India, Central Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and Spain. Performed as a tribe using synchronized group improvisation, each participant will learn a vocabulary of controlled, earthy and mesmerizing movements and cues, allowing a lead and follow format. Cost is $75 per person/session.

Irish Kish will lead the workshop, Lotus Flow Exploration, from noon to 2 p.m., October 21. In this workshop, participants will explore their own Divine movement. The flow sequence is designed to allow a person to move and find where he or she is comfortable. Cost is $30.

From noon to 2 p.m., December 2, Kish will lead Kundalini Yoga and Chai, an opportunity for those attending to connect their creativity to their higher self and begin to fully experience the human talent of creativity. In the workshop, participants will tap into their creative side with a body working, colorful kriya. Individuals will also get creative making mascala chai (spiced tea). Cost is $30.
