Natural Awakenings Lehigh Valley

Peace & Justice Conference

Northampton Community College (NCC) will hold the sixth annual Peace & Justice Conference on October 15, honoring the Lehigh-Pocono Committee of Concern (LEPOCO) for 50 years of community activism in the Lehigh Valley. The day includes a photo exhibit, Vietnam Today, in the Lipkin Theatre Lobby, refreshments and a community expo featuring information tables from local organizations. A panel discussion, 50 Years of Peace in the Valley, with LEPOCO founding members, will cover 50 years of community engagement.

There will be a screening at 2 p.m. of the film Which Way Home, in which a group of young, unaccompanied Central American children battle poverty, dangerous train rides and potential predators as they try to reach the U.S.

Admission is free. Location: 3835 Green Pond Rd, Bethlehem. For more information, call Jim Von Schilling at 610-861-4178 or email [email protected]; or Kiki Anastasakos at 610-861-5568 or email [email protected].
