Natural Awakenings Lehigh Valley

Publishers Letter

Welcome to our third annual Natural Living Directory, the culmination of four years of exploring the wealth of natural healthy living resources in the Greater Lehigh Valley and Far West New Jersey. This edition includes 150 local people that you can turn to for help with any health and wellness concern, while empowering yourself to live in optimal health.

In meeting with these natural health providers, I frequently hear how their clients have successfully turned to natural and spiritual solutions to overcome debilitating conditions and diseases. Once people understand more about their own bodies they find that they are better able to make the lifestyle changes that support health. Usually, they also find their whole outlook on life profoundly changed.

Most of us evolve an approach to holistic health and wellness once we realize we are not invincible. We hope this month’s companion articles “Alternative Goes Mainstream” (page 26) and “How to Be a Good Patient” (page 30) help you better understand how to improve your own health. It’s always best to begin with an informed discussion with your doctor, as well as any assisting natural health providers. If your doctor is not open to alternative and complementary therapies, you may want to consider finding one that is.  Second opinions from a different point of view combined with one’s own research can make a tremendous difference in your life.

There is no reason to live with or accept less than optimal health. You and your family deserve to live in good health. This magazine is dedicated to helping you find solutions that triumph.

We encourage you to save this issue and refer to it whenever you face a health challenge. Taking the first step, and the next, into this community of healers can change your life.  Please do not go another day living with a treatable condition.

Yours in health, Reid Boyer, Publisher
