Natural Awakenings Lehigh Valley

Forest Bathing Program at The Lodge at Woodloch

Twelve years after opening as a premier destination spa focused on health, wellness and relaxation, The Lodge at Woodloch, in Hawley, has created a new community-focused program to advocate for wellness through one of their most popular programs; forest bathing amid the beautiful woodland surroundings. The sessions will begin at 10 a.m., September 8, on Forest Bathing Day. Community Forest Bathing will continue each month at 2 p.m. throughout the fall on October 7, November 4 and December 2.

The philosophy is simple; spending quality and mindful time in nature has monumental health benefits for body and mind. Scientific studies have shown that phytocides from the trees and plants of the forest help our bodies. Intentional time spent outdoors reduces stress, calms the mind and regulates heart rate, among other benefits. The two-hour session will share this philosophy and practice and give practical tips on how to continue the practice at home.

The Lodge at Woodloch is a top 10 destination spa in the U.S., according to the 2018 Travel + Leisure World’s Best awards. It has earned the Girlfriend Getaway award from Organic Spa magazine as well as a certificate of excellence from Wine Spectator.

The Lodge at Woodloch offers complete spa programs, treatments, outdoor adventure activities, golf, classes and packages in a pristine mountain retreat environment. The award-winning property features 58 luxury accommodations, a 40,000-square-foot spa, gourmet restaurant and more.

Community Forest Bathing costs $30 for a two-hour session and includes a custom reusable water bottle. The cost to add a spa day pass will be discounted by 50 percent on those dates ($30 instead of $60).
