Charity Bike Ride Supports Local Agriculture

Don’t miss the Seed Farm’s Third Annual Sowing Seeds Charity Bike Ride and Fun Run/Walk on August 27 at 9:30 a.m. at the Lower Milford Township Building in Coopersburg. New this year is a 5K Fun Run and Walk, as well as the addition of “farm stops” along the routes where participants can fuel up on local produce and meet the farmer. Companies are invited to sponsor the event, with contributions used to train new farmers, support the establishment of new agricultural businesses, and help ensure a source of fresh, locally produced food for the residents of the Lehigh Valley. The Seed Farm is Lehigh County’s beginning farmer training program and sustainable agriculture business development program designed to help start and maintain new sustainable farms in the Lehigh Valley. Cost is $25 if pre-registered or $35 the day of the event. The Seed Farm is located at 5854 Vera Cruz Road in Emmaus. For more information or to become a sponsor, call Erin Frederick at 610-391-9583 or visit TheSeedFarm.org.
