Natural Awakenings Lehigh Valley

Back to School Cut-a-Thon

Anthony Ashley Hair Design Salon in Allentown is offering $10 haircuts to kids under 13 on Monday, August 22 from noon to 6 p.m. All proceeds from the day will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a nonprofit donor-supported organization whose mission seeks to cure and control cystic fibrosis and improve the quality of life for those with the disease. “We are pleased to help such a worthwhile organization,” states salon owner Nina Tulio, who was nominated as one of the top 20 entrepreneurs under 40 in the Lehigh Valley. “When the foundation was established in 1955, children with CF were not expected to live long enough to attend elementary school. Due in large part to the Foundation’s aggressive investments in innovative research and comprehensive care, many people with the disease can now expect to live into their 30s, 40s and beyond. In addition to the money raised by the haircuts, we will also be raffling off door prizes and our stylists are donating their wages for the day.” Anthony Ashley Salon is located at 1740 West Allen Street in Allentown. Call 610-434-0180 for more information. Those unable to attend can make a donation under Tulio’s profile at CFF.org. See ad, page 22.
