Lecture and Workshop for Parents of Young Children

Research shows there are three ingredients essential to set the strongest possible foundation for a young child’s future: a broad palette of sensory experience, emotionally informed movement responses to this sense information and an attentive adult. Sharifa Oppenheimer, a veteran Waldorf early childhood teacher and author of the best-selling book, Heaven on Earth: Handbook for Parents of Young Children, will be speaking about “The Three Essentials” on Friday, March 9 at 7 p.m., followed by a “Family Culture” workshop at 10 a.m. on March 10. Both events will be held at River Valley Waldforf School.

Parents are invited to explore the roles of family rhythms, family work and play, children’s artistic expression, stories and child’s play. Cost is $15 for each event or $25 for both. River Valley Waldorf School is located at 1395 Bridgeton Hill Road in Upper Black. To register, call 610-982-5606 or visit RiverValleySchool.org. See ad, page 44.
