Kula Heart Yoga & Wellness Center presents an evening of heart-opening call and response chanting, healing devotional music and sacred song featuring David Newman aka Durga Das and & Mira on Saturday, March 17 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.   

Practitioners and educators of Bhakti yoga, the yoga of Devotional Love, David and Mira travel extensively to share their music, which embodies a devotional mysticism, distinctive musicality, poetic intimacy, and a deep respect for India’s chant tradition. The duo’s approach to kirtan is unique, combining sacred mantras with original songs of spiritual love and devotion. This union creates a musical context which both appeals to the western ear while maintaining the essence of the eastern tradition. David and Mira’s kirtans are joyous, ecstatic, uplifting and at times exploding with energy.
