Natural Awakenings Lehigh Valley

A Symposium for Truth and Action

Marcellus Shale Exposed and Berks Gas Truth are co-hosting an educational event with the Lehigh Valley Sierra Club on March 16 and March 17 at Northhampton Community College in Bethlehem. The event kicks off on Friday evening with a Gasland screening followed by a panel discussion with people from the Marcellus region living with the consequences of drilling—including Craig and Julie Sautner, who made news when their water supply was cut off by Cabot Oil & Gas and the DEP.

On Saturday, Dr. Anthony Ingraffea, a renowned Cornell civil engineering professor and an expert on fracking, will be the keynote speaker. Following his talk will be short talks on different issues related to drilling. The afternoon will be devoted to task force meetings intended to serve as organizational gatherings for groups that will continue to work on drilling issues long after the event.

The event is free and open to the public; however, registration is required, as space is limited. For details, visit Marcellus-Shale-Exposed.org.
