Hope for Pelvic Pain

This month, two educational workshops designed for those suffering with chronic pelvic pain will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Institute for Women, in pain, in Bethlehem.

On June 6, The Healing Power of Reiki, presented by Registered Nurse and Master Reiki practitioner, Barbara Naftulin, will discuss Reiki as a healing modality for chronic pelvic pain, its benefits and a description of the Reiki process. A group Reiki healing will conclude the hour. Linda Bliss, an Embodyment yoga therapist, Svaroopa yoga teacher and Reiki practitioner, will present the workshop, Svaroopa Yoga and Embodyment Therapy, on June 20. Participants will learn a profoundly healing breathing practice, which is the basis of the therapy. Simple yoga poses release deep tensions beginning at the tailbone, and changes translate to the whole body and mind. Bliss says she has had exceptional results with women suffering from chronic pelvic pain, and has personal experience with the benefits of the techniques gained by her own journey with fibromyalgia and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

Cost is $15. Institute for Women in pain is located at 623 W. Union Blvd., Ste. 5, Bethlehem. Call 610-868-0104 for more information.
