Easton Celebrates Relay for Life
The American Cancer Society (ACS) Relay For Life of Easton will take place from noon, June 15 to noon, June 16 at Metzgar Field at Lafayette College. Featuring food, fun and prizes, this year’s Relay is the 10th anniversary for the Easton group, and there will be plenty of ways to celebrate.
June 15 will feature a variety of activities including a Cancer Prevention Study from 4-8 p.m.; the Parade of Teams at 7 p.m.; The Survivors’ Lap at 8 p.m.; the Sky Lantern Release at 8:30 p.m. and the Luminaria Ceremony at 9:30 p.m., which honors those who have been touched by cancer and remember loved ones lost to the disease. The next morning, at 9 a.m., June 15, a survivor lap and butterfly release will be held, followed by The Fight Back Ceremony at 10 a.m. During the ceremony, participants make a personal commitment to save lives by taking up the fight against cancer. In addition, tent sites around the track will host a variety of activities including games, food, face painting, glitter tattoos, bounce house, photo booth, dunk tank, items for sale, basket raffles and more.
