The Yoga Loft will welcome Girish and his eclectic band to the studio, November 4, for two events that feature songs, hymns and chants from his CDs, Girish Remixed and Diamonds in the Sun, along with some old favorites. An all levels yoga class with Carrie Morgan featuring live music and kirtan with Girish and his band will begin at 4:00 p.m.

Girish is a singer, songwriter, session tabla player and producer whose life journey has been marked by a series of profound transformations. He has gone from aspiring jazz drummer to renunciant Hindu monk to first call tabla guru for the likes of Krishna Das to solo mantra troubadour. He sings traditional Sanskrit mantras with a modern, funky, yet deeply devotional twist. Accompanied by his band, Girish asks audiences to participate by singing along, call and response chanting and dancing. He invites students in the live music and yoga class to let go and let their yoga flow through the beats and rhythms of his soul stirring tunes.
