Natural Awakenings Lehigh Valley

2012 Turkey Trot 5K and Fitness Walk Returns

Join Historic Bethlehem Museums and Sites to work off that delicious Thanksgiving dinner at the 10th Annual Turkey Trot 5K and Fitness Walk, at 9 a.m., November 24, in downtown Bethlehem. Prizes are awarded to the first overall male and female racers, as well as top three runners in 6 age categories.

The picturesque course starts in the Colonial Industrial Quarter by the Monocacy Creek, winds through downtown Bethlehem among the sites of historic Bethlehem and continues on Sand Island along the Lehigh River. Turkey Teams are back this year by popular demand. Participants can gather friends, family members, fellow alumni or coworkers and register as a Turkey Team, then show creativity and team pride by making team t-shirts or costumes to wear on race day.

Proceeds from the race benefit Historic Bethlehem Museums and Sites’ mission to preserve 19 historic buildings and share three centuries of history.

Cost is $25 if registered before Nov. 9; $30 Nov. 10–21; $35 Nov. 23 and day of race. Participants receive a t-shirt, refreshments and goodie bag. For more information, call the Visitor Center at 610-691-6055 or visit HistoricBethlehem.org. Event is rain or shine.
