Addressing Balanced Wellness for the Aging In Place
Aug 29, 2013 07:55PM
Everyday LIFE, a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, provides a comprehensive model of care for aging Americans in the Lehigh Valley. Sponsored locally by Presbyterian Senior Living, the program enables seniors to age in the comfort of their own homes while at the same time providing necessary support for the family caregiver. To help caregivers find balance in their own lives, the center hosts a series of educational forums and recently added free yoga and meditation classes on Monday and Wednesday evenings at 5:30 p.m., respectively.
“Baby Boomers are reaching retirement years in record numbers, and at the same time, more seniors are electing to age in the comfort of their homes instead of opting for assisted living or nursing care,” said John Paul Marosy, executive director of everyday LIFE. “As a result, more family members are taking on the role of family care giver, adding financial, physical and emotional stress that can be challenging to manage. Everyday LIFE is unique in that it provides support for both aging Americans and their family support system.”
