A Platform for Collaboration
Oct 08, 2013 05:00PM
The Sustainability Commons, created by the Alliance for Sustainable Communities-Lehigh Valley, is a new online platform that encourages and facilitates collaboration among individuals and organizations working in the sustainability arena. When fully implemented, the Sustainability Commons and its system of online working groups will cover the full range of sustainability concerns in the Lehigh Valley.
Becoming a member of the Sustainability Commons simply means you can participate in this free workspace. Members get an overview of sustainability doings via the Commons home page, by checking out what the various communities are working on, and by being a member of the Commons Central community.
They also become members of one or more existing communities or can start their own to collaborate with other local people working on the same issue. The site features a blog for disseminating news, links, or short articles among team members; Wiki, where texts can be created and worked on collaboratively; files – where documents can be uploaded and shared by other members of the community and a calendar – for the group’s events. The site is advertisement free.
