Healthy Alternatives Food and Nutrition Center, in Trexlertown, is partnering with the Non-GMO Project to educate and better inform customers of the benefits of Non-GMO foods and products. Information is available in the store to explain just what Genetically Modified Organisms are and why they are harmful to people and the planet. Healthy Alternatives is clearly marking their shelves with Verified GMO-free labels so shopper can be assured of the product ingredients.

“Everyone deserves to make an informed choice about whether or not to consume genetically modified organisms,” states store owner Lloyd Burg. “Many large food producers are resisting clear consumer labeling of their products. On the other hand, our suppliers understand that we want our customers to be able to trust all of the products that we sell.”

 The nonprofit Non-GMO Project is committed to preserving and building the non-GMO food supply, educating consumers and providing verified non-GMO choices.
