A Nubian Dance Workshop with Amala Gameela, from1:30 to 4 p.m., January 26, will teach participants the joyful folk dancing of Nubia, in Africa. The class includes instrumentation, costuming, musicality, combinations/choreography, culture, expression and stage presence, with handouts and music provided. Bring a veil or purchase one at workshop. Cost is $30 in advance or $35 at the door.
Bellydance with Veils, a class held from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. on eight Thursdays, beginning January 9, teaches how to manipulate the veil with simple traveling steps and basic arm paths to create beautiful body alignments, along with serpentine circular movements, luxurious undulations and subtle shimmies with fun choreography. Cost is $88.
Amala Gameela is a talented and passionate Middle Eastern Dance Artist specializing in folkloric Middle Eastern dance and Egyptian cabaret. She is a an enthusiastic instructor who presents traditional Middle Eastern dance with beauty, culture, and professional artistry.
