Heart Attack Prevention Screenings

Tom Wachtmann, D.C., will be offering cardiovascular and autonomic nervous system assessments using the Max Pulse medical screening device by appointment and during the Twin Ponds Integrative Health Center’s Heart Health Retreat on February 21. The Max Pulse is a simple, non-invasive, FDA Class II medical screening device that provides measurements using technology to access overall cardiovascular and autonomic nervous system function, as well as stress levels.

Using a finger clip, the blood’s pulse wave is followed from the time it leaves the heart and travels through the blood vessels down to the finger. The pulse wave is a snapshot of the cardiovascular system taken to evaluate arterial elasticity, which is related to atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries), a major cardiovascular risk factor. The test analyzes overall cardiovascular health, constriction power of vessel from the left ventricle, overall elasticity of the large, small and peripheral arteries, heart rate and vascular health aging, in addition to mental and physical stress.
