Find Treasure and Nature in Carbon County
Jun 29, 2015 09:08PM
Jim Thorpe hosts its Ninth Annual Merchants and Neighbors Sidewalk Sale in the historic Downtown District on Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12. Shoppers looking for a great bargain, fun stuff or hidden treasure will find over fifty merchants and neighbors filling their front sidewalks, driveways, porches and side alleys with cool stuff, household items, stuff from their attics, garages, and basements including antiques and collectibles, toys, baked goodies, clothes and small appliances. Reuse is a great way to support the environment.
The surrounding area in Carbon County is just 30 minutes from Allentown and offers nature lovers some great opportunities to get out and enjoy the summer. Whitewater rafting on the Lehigh River, swimming and boating at Mauch Chunk Lake Park, bike rides through the Lehigh River Gorge and hiking the falls at Glen Onoko State Park and plenty of campsites are convenient to and easily accessible from the town of Jim Thorpe and offer a great way to enjoy a full day or weekend in the area.
