Children throughout the Lehigh Valley can have summer experience they won’t soon forget at The Gress Mountain Ranch's (TGMR) annual Ranch Camp. Camps are offered on July 11 through 15 and August 1 through 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This enriching program accepts children in second through 12th grades enjoying activities such as pony rides, donkey cart rides, alpaca fleece felting and yoga. They also learn proper care and feeding of various large, small, and exotic animals through hands-on participation while receiving specific information about each species.

The Gress Mountain Ranch is a non-profit animal sanctuary for large, small, and exotic animals and is dedicated to educating and helping both people and animals who have been victims of abuse, neglect, and the unwanted aftereffects. Cost is $200 per week and includes all materials and activities. “Ranch Camp combines learning and fun,” said Kathryn Gress, founder and president of TGMR. “The children absorb the importance of kindness and experience the joy of a partnership with animals in an enjoyable and educational way.”

Location: 3264 Highland Road, Orefield. For more information or to sponsor a child’s attendance, contact Kathryn at [email protected] or 610-398-2122.
