Natural Awakenings Lehigh Valley

Support Peace in the Valley

The Lehigh Pocono Committee of Concern (LEPOCO) will hold a Peace Vigil from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., December 8, at the south approach to the Hill-to-Hill Bridge 3rd and Wyandotte Street., in South Bethlehem. The vigil is great way to get involved in citizen-to-citizen efforts to build a just society and a peaceful world through nonviolent action.

LEPOCO is a nonprofit citizens group of nearly 1,000 members, primarily in the Lehigh Valley area. Founded in 1965 to oppose the war in Vietnam, its concerns have broadened to include a range of problems that threaten peace and our planet. LEPOCO members share a vision that we can build a sane and more just world. Gathering strength from our diversity, they work together and as individuals for nonviolent change, starting in our own community. Activities and programs occur as needed and the interest of members allows.
