Massage Therapist Raises Money for Local Charity

The awardw i n n i n g national event, EveryBody Deserves a Massage Week, held from July 16 through 22 at Phoenix Rehabilitation is sponsored by Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP), the nation’s largest massage membership association. Local volunteer Connie Kates-Williams will exchange two, 60-minute massage gift certificates for donations of new or lightly worn clothing, food, money or toiletries to benefit Family Promise of Carbon County.

Drop off donations from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Phoenix Rehab Monday through Friday. Professional massage therapists have joined ABMP volunteers nationwide each year since 1995 as an educational public service designed to promote the many benefits of massage therapy and give back to their communities.

Massage has proven health benefits such as effectiveness in treating persistent back pain, arthritis pain and carpal tunnel syndrome. Research shows first-time massage therapy clients report very positive feelings about their experience. They can enjoy peace of mind knowing ABMP members meet state licensing and educational requirements, as well as adhering to the ABMP code of ethics.

Location: 1018 Blakeslee Blvd. Dr. E., Lehighton, PA. For more information, visit abmp.com.
