The Lehigh Valley Sustainability Network and the Allentown Brew Works will host a happy hour at 5:30 p.m., December 13, with a presentation by LaKeisha Thorpe, of Bethlehem Food Co-op, and Madeleine Weko, of Muhlenberg College, For Your Holiday Feasting: How to Buy Local and Waste Less, at 6:15 p.m. They will explore the challenges of local eating year-round and solutions that are specific to the Lehigh Valley, plus how much food waste is really costing us and what to do about it.

Green Drinks, the Lehigh Valley’s premier green networking event, is an informal monthly mixer that brings together folks who are interested in sustainable business, policy and living. Participants meet other concerned and committed eco-warriors to share drinks, conversation and news of what’s up around town. There are drinks (including organic and local specials), a brief program and lots of time for Q&A.
