Natural Awakenings Lehigh Valley

Bathing Every Day? Maybe Not.

Summer is here! Some people shower 1-2 times daily to feel fresh, clean and to minimize toxins absorbed through the skin. Everyday bathing is not recommended for everyone.

Dry skin can be caused by long, hot showers, commercial soaps and skin products with fragrances or chemicals. People with dry skin from eczema, poor dieting or heavy medication must take special care.

How to take care of your skin during summer months:
Bathe for less than 10 minutes, using warm water.
Use a soft washcloth and soaps made with pure natural oils (SeaLand Cosmetics Natural soaps). Rinse well and pat dry with a soft towel.
Immediately afterward, apply natural lotion to moisturize.
Wait a few minutes before dressing; your skin may scream for another round of moisturizing lotion.

On non-shower days, apply Daily Moisturizing Lotion once or twice a day.

Dead Sea salt has a high concentration of magnesium and bromide which improves hydration and reduces inflammation. These can cleanse and detoxify the skin. SeaLand Cosmetics soaps are made with natural oils: coconut, rice bran, olive, sweet almond and castor oil, and scented only with pure essential oils such as lavender, patchouli, rosemary, peppermint and sweet orange. No chemicals for color or fragrances.

The Body Lotion patented formulation with organic aloe vera contains shea butter, natural oils (coconut, olive, sunflower) and pure essential oils such as green tea and geranium, for hydration and clarity.

Products are available at www.sealandcosmetic.com and local health stores in Lehigh Valley, PA.
