Natural Awakenings Lehigh Valley

A Quick Detox

Why is it necessary to cleanse your system?  Removing toxins can offer many forms of relief from temporary sluggishness, dehydration, constipation, headaches, muscle pain, fatigue, and it can lower lactic acid.

The idea of detoxing sounds good, right? Naturally, your body is always trying to eliminate what it doesn’t need via the digestive tract (stool), liver and kidneys (urine) and skin (perspiration). The universal internal solvent is water with minerals, which corrects acidic pH and helps antioxidant transport.

Start with two quarts of alkaline water (pH of 8) from a health food store and add two to three teaspoons of baking soda (NaHCO3) and shake well. Add 3 to 5 grams of powdered vitamin C (buffered or plain ascorbic acid). Drink this first thing in the morning or last thing at night on an empty stomach. At night drink it at least two to four hours after a small evening meal. Take 2 hours to consume all this liquid.

This is not a healing process, but rather a chance for your organs to rebalance the cell fluids and intercellular spaces. The intermingling of this new fluid with your existing body fluids helps to remove some of the diluted cellular debris. A once weekly protocol of detoxing will gradually lead to a healthy lifestyle without creating any problems.

These guidelines are not meant to replace a meal or a low-calorie diet, but to give you additional help in cleansing. Then you have an opportunity to recommit to eating more whole organic plant-based foods.
